Masashi SHIMURA (Mr.) is a patent attorney in the Chemical & Biotechnology Section specializing in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, and biochemistry. He earned a B.S. in pharmaceutical sciences from the Tokyo University of Pharmacy and Life Science and additionally passed the National Examination for Pharmacists while in school. He worked as a pharmacist after graduation, and then passed the Japanese Patent Bar Examination and joined Nakamura & Partners in 2009. Mr. Shimura is a member of the Japan Patent Attorneys Association and has written and lectured on the Japanese patent linkage system.
