Kunimitsu KOMATSU (Mr.) is a patent attorney in the Chemical and Biotechnology Section. His practice includes patent prosecution, opinion work, invalidation trials, and litigation, in partiular, in the field of the pharmaceutical science, biotechnology, food science, and chemistry. He earned a Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at The University of Tokyo. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow for cancer immunotherapy, and then worked as a patent examiner at the Japan Patent Office. Dr. Komatsu has in-depth knowledge of life science and examination practices, and provides strategic advice to clients regarding prosecution and litigation matters. He is a member of the Japan Patent Attorneys Association and the Asian Patent Attorneys Association, and registered as a qualified IP litigator.
