Takaki Nishijima (Mr.) is a patent attorney in the Electronics and IT Section whose main practices are patent prosecution and litigation with a specialty in control, chemical engineering, and software. He graduated from the Tokyo Institute of Technology Faculty of Engineering and thereafter worked as an engineer for a chemical plant. Later he went on to pass both the Japan and U.S. patent attorney examinations. Mr. Nishijima has written various articles focusing on IP issues related to inventive step, the patent system in the age of the internet, and practice changes in patent drafting and response. He has also given lectures for the Japan Intellectual Property Association and the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation on specification drafting and foreign filing respectively.
