Nobuyuki Taniguchi (Mr.) is a patent attorney in the Electronics & IT Section with a specialty in electronics and electrical engineering. He attained a B.S. and M.S. in electronics from the Faculty of Engineering at Kyoto University. He then went on to study at the Keio University Faculty of Law, where upon graduation, he worked for the JPO as an Examiner of patents related to image devices, information processing, and business related inventions as well as for MITI (Ministry of International Trade and Industry). After his time in the public sector, he passed the Japanese Patent Bar Examination and joined Nakamura & Partners. Mr. Taniguchi is an active member of the Japan Association of Industrial Property Law, Japan Patent Attorneys Association, and AIPPI-JAPAN. He has written numerous articles on topics such as patent protection for technical inventions and specific Japanese case judgements and their implications on patent law. Additionally, he has lectured extensively on the patent protection of software related inventions and JPO examination guidelines.
